Committees & Descriptions

  • Advocacy
    Works closely with PTA president to identify issues and concerns related to the health and educational success of our student body; organizes activities, meetings and programs to address these needs and educate families
  • Audit Committee
    Composed of no fewer than three members. Individuals with check signing authority and their family members may not serve on the audit committee, nor may the outgoing or incoming treasurer. The audit committee shall be responsible for the audits and financial reviews described in Article 11 of the bylaws.
  • Beautification
    Maintains a portion of outdoor landscaping near the school; Works closely with VP School Support to coordinate beautification projects throughout the school year
  • Book Fair
    Coordinates the fall book fair including set-up, tear down and assisting students and the public during fair hours
  • Boosterthon
    Works closely with VP of Fundraising and President to plan and implement Boosterthon; maintains accurate records and forwards monies to PTA Treasurer
  • Community Development
    Research, engage and establish community partnerships with local businesses to create additional funding and sponsorship opportunities for our school
  • Community Nights
    Coordinates restaurant night fundraising, logistics and promotion
  • Family Engagement
    Coordinates efforts of Family Event subcommittees:
    • Fall Family Fun Night
      Plans and coordinates family-centered activities for Family Book Fair Night
    • Girls’ Event Committee
      Plans and coordinates annual Girls’ Event
    • Boys’ Event Committee
      Plans and coordinates annual Boys’ Event
  • Membership
    Coordinates PTA membership drive; inputs members into NCPTA database; works with PTA Secretary to maintain accurate PTA membership records; Distributes membership stars to staff; Distributes membership cards to members
  • Nominating Committee
    Comprised of 3 members (2 BODS and 1 non-BOD) whose purpose is to, in compliance with the NC Uniform Bylaws, solicit the general membership and propose a slate of officers for the following school year at the general PTA meeting in May
  • Partner Programs (Box Tops/Coca-Cola Give/Publix Partners/HT Tie)
    Responsible for assisting with publicizing, collecting and sorting Box Tops and Coca Cola Give. Will also encourage parents and faculty to link any grocery store reward cards to our school
  • Room Parents
    Oversees Room Parent volunteers; serves as liaison between school and room parents
  • Spirit Wear
    Maintains school spirit store operations and coordinates design/sale of Spirit Wear merchandise; Coordinates with Communications committee chair for updates to EcWid store
  • Supply Packs Committee
    Works with teachers to compile the list of supplies for the school year, work with the supply pack vendor to put together pre-packaged packs of school supplies for each grade level to be sold to parents and students and distribute the packs when they are delivered
    • Welcoming
      Coordinates monthly tours and other efforts to welcome new families to our school
